My name is Kurtis Doyle and I founded Take Our Trash with the goal of addressing the trash-related issues faced by the tourist community in Big Bear. In 2017, while running my property management company, Lavish Cabins, I noticed that there were recurring problems with renters not properly disposing of their trash.

I understood that renters often found it inconvenient to transport their trash to the public waste facility, which was located across town, and wait in long lines to dispose of it. Additionally, some renters would choose to leave the trash in the cabin, which would then fall on the housekeeper to dispose of. Others would leave their trash on the side of the road or dump it in commercial bins, which is prohibited by local regulations.

To address these issues, I created Take Our Trash, a service that makes it easy for renters to properly dispose of their trash. Our service is tailored for the 92314 zip code, where dumping trash at the Big Bear Lake waste facility is prohibited. We aim to bring peace of mind to short-term rentals and the elderly, who may have difficulty getting their trash cans to the curb. Additionally, we take the trash bins out early in the morning to prevent bears from getting into them at night.
